Finally it's that time again and the bullet journal advent calendar will start soon. I am so excited and I hope you like the little hygge Scandinavian houses as much as I do! It's so nice that Christmas is just around the corner again and we can spend time together through Advent. What could be better than getting creative at the same time? While we enjoy the pre-Christmas time, we just make ourselves comfortable. This year's advent calendar is packed with hygge reminders, mindfulness, journal inspo & freebies, DIY ideas and a few Christmas to-do's. I created the template again so that all the little houses fit on 2 pages in the A5 journal :) How the DIY works, what you need to do it and how you get my freebie you will learn in this blogpost. I hope you join!
How does the Bullet Journal Advent Calendar work?
My advent calendar includes 24 little houses and 24 little notes with different things like mindful & creative to-do's or reminders. In addition, you will receive emails with great freebies from me on some days. We will open a "little house" every day from December 1 until December 24. The whole thing is a kind of countdown until Christmas. So we embellish not only together the Christmas season, we can be creative through the Advent calendar via Instagram. So feel free to check out my channel @somekind.art if you feel like it.
Just 3 steps away: Just create the Advent Calendar with my free pdf template in your journal
Step 1: First, print out my template. Please note the following: The template is created in A4 format. Please select "actual size"and "horizontal format" in your print settings and set the "print quality to high" if possible. Turn off double-sided printing.
Then cut out the houses and fold each one once in the middle. It is important that you fold the houses as shown in the next two pictures. Then put all the houses in your journal or on some other paper that you like to hang up, for example, and plan how you like to spread them out. I always want the numbers to be mixed up so I have to look for the right house number each day :) But you can do it as you like. If you like to add a lettering as a heading like I did, you have to leave a little space at the top. It's best to write your headline in pencil at this point. Then glue the houses on the side that you folded down.
Step 2: Next, cut out the small pieces of paper with the advent notes. The number on each piece of paper tells you which little house it belongs to. I cut each one out individually and glued it directly to the right place. It was easier and I didn't get mixed up.
Step 3: Finally, take a Washi Tape of your choice, cut a small strip for each little house and stick it shut. This will prevent the little houses from breaking or crumpling when you turn the pages of the journal. Most recently add your lettering and finally your advent calendar in the bullet journal is ready :)
